What happened to Anet?
The Chapters were good.
But the Expansion was a little bad.
Storyline and others are good but Armor and Weapon what happened?

It would be an easy solution if the Charrslayer Mod could simply be overwritten or removed.

+25%(before fix), now only 20%, vs Charr could be gotten through a quest.

The whole caster items are crap, unless you are a power wander. :>
I see no harm when we could salvage the +20% vs Charr mods and/or replace them with others.

It would prevent these weapons from never being used or only on special occasions in Charr Territory.

To make it even worse: The Charrslayer mod of the Vanguard weapons is horribly bugged. Right now they do less damage to any target than other weapons. Check the bug forum.

...... If you don't like the Charrslaying weapons: don't buy one.
... If you like the skins but don't like the Charrslaying mod: tough.
If you think about it though... they exist that way for a very good reason, and that isn't just because the Ebon Vanguard are obsessed:

Vanquishing Ascalon.

Et voila... A-Net make it easier for the people who were complaining about it.

If they cannot vanquish Ascalon, full sets of charrslayer weapons will not help them at all... because they have a general problem, e.g. lack of experience.

Or is that too logical? Although popular, your 15^50, 20/20, +30 isn't gonna deal with EVERY situation...
Yes it is gonna deal with every situation. Thats 20/20 mods saving grace ... it just works.

It will never overperform perfect weapon for job, but it will always be seccond best and always better than weapons made for different situation.

You oversee how hard it is to get weapon for each situation and each build.

You oversee how much storage problems it creates (40 weapons and shield on my warrior - it hell to manage.).

You oversee fact that heroes have only one weapon set.

You oversee fact that people who like one skin want to use it as much as possible.

Obviously you're oblivious to the number of people who were complaining about wanting Charrslaying mods....

Now I think about it, though offensively it might be a bit useless... the Rinblade with +5 armour vs Charr from Pre-Searing Ascalon might have some use with a Riposte build... or just general Charr-tanking.

2 things

1) For the sake of argument, let's say you're right an charrslaying mods are for vanquishing Ascalon. There is nothing in that line of reasoning dictating that this mod cannot be overwritten.

2) If you don't like the tormented weapons: Don't buy them
If you like the skins but don't like the (insert generic inherent mod) mods: tough

Does that sound right at all to you? We'll take any highly desirable skin in the game, attached an unchangable mod to it. Do you think people will be happy? Yes, it's probably true that a lot more people want tormented skins rather than Ebon vanguard skins, but why should those people who want EBV skins be stuck with a non-overwritable mod when allowing it to be overwritten basically does NOTHING to hurt players? More choices in character appearance are good.
